Air layering

A way of propagating woody plants by encouraging roots to form on a branch while it is still attached to the parent. A ring of bark is removed, wrapped in moist moss or cocopeat and sealed in plastic; once roots form, the branch is cut off and potted. It is widely used for guava, lemon and hibiscus.
